Personal commitments
His experience as an international journalist, particularly in Asia, prompted Renato Cudicio to shoot a 52-minute documentary on the most important mission ever undertaken by the United Nations: the organization, from June 1992 to June 1993, of the first democratic elections ever held in Cambodia, a country ravaged by wars. Based on the testimonials of volunteers, soldiers, journalists and UN officials, "In the meanders of the Mekong River" (2002), shows the challenges and successes of this major milestone of contemporary history, as well as the questions that it raises.
Since 2003, through his digital agency, Renato Cudicio has supported the EM-1 scientific research project in Northern Quebec, which demonstrated in 2010 that hydroelectricity produces a residual amount of greenhouse gases, with no significant impact on the environment. He has produced a series of three documentaries shot in HD that retrace the seven years of this unusual scientific adventure in northern Quebec.
Since 2010, to reduce their ecological footprint, the Canadian companies led by Renato Cudicio have been hosting their IT applications in Quebec-based data centers, powered by hydroelectricity.
